4th Annual Sheraton Syracuse University Hotel Shootout Results

Syracuse, N.Y. - The 4th Annual Sheraton Syracuse University Hotel Girls Hockey Shootout completed play this afternoon with the Rideau-St.Lawrence Thunder capturing the under 14 bracket and the Syracuse Nationals skating away with the under 12 championship. Both games couldn't be settled in regulation time. A goal by Kristen Johnson in overtime gave RSL a 3-2 win over the Syracuse Nationals in the under 14 bracket. In the under 12 bracket Nicole Moriarity's lone shootgoal gave the Syracuse Nationals their 3-2 win. Eight teams from as far as Canada and Pennsylvania competed in the three day tournament that was skated at the Tennity Ice Skating Pavilion on the Syracuse University campus. The teams were housed at the Sheraton Syracuse University Hotel. Co-sponsors, along with the Sheraton, was the Greater Syracuse Convention and Visitors Bureau. Rich Duda of the Sheraton was Tournament Director.
